Rare moments for hockey

Rare moment has been created for Indian spectators as both India has stormed into Men’s and Women’s semi-finals in hockey. While Men’s team has already been entered into semi-final on Sunday after four decades by defeating Great Britain by 3-1, Women’s team sprung a surprise by making debut entry into semi-finals by defeating Australia by 1-0.

Indian contingent has been waiting for a long time for this moment in the team event. This is the first time that both men’s and women’s team have made entry keeping hope alive of Indian spectators. It is notable that both Great Britain and Australia are considered as top seeded teams.

Last time India won gold medal in hockey (Men’s) in 1964.
