Great moments in Olympic history 

1900- Women's participation starts in Olympic Games

1936- US athlete Jesse Owens wins four gold medals in Berlin games

1948- Concept of paralympics introduced 

1960- 1st time television entered into Olympics

1960- 1st Black African Abebe Bikila of Ethiopia wins gold medal

1976- Nadia Comaneci is awarded the first perfect 10 in Olympic gymnastics history, in the uneven parallel bars. 

2000- North and South Korea marched together for the first time in Sydney's Olympic opening ceremony

2008- Michael Phelps, a US swimmer, wins eight gold medals, the most by an individual in a single Olympic Games

2016- Usain Bolt becomes the only men in the history to clinch Gold in men's 100 meter and 200 meter  at three consecutive Olympics (2008, 2012 & 2016)
